Focal position measurement according to capacitance of the lens
  

We are researching about variable optical / electro magnetic devices using micro liquid actuator. This actuator is composed of liquid droplet encapsulated in thin polymer and sandwiched between transparent / thin Au electrodes. This actuator can be deformed sequentially by applying electro static force between these two electrodes. Also its shape can be detected by measuring its capacitance. Thus its shape can be controlled only by the actuator itself.
