Distance sensor using varifocal liquid lens
We are researching on micro size confocal optical system which can used to measure the 3D shape of the target object by using varifocal liquid lens. Usually, confocal optical system requires complex optical system composed of highly precise actuator and sensor to scan laser focus position. In our research, we simplified and miniaturized the confocal optical system by using varifocal liquid lens, which can move and control focal position only by the liquid lens itself, instead of the combination of actuator and sensor.
