Stretchable force sensor using ionic liquid
In this research we fabricated stretchable tri-axes force sensor by encapsulating ionic liquid inside silicone rubber channels. Since ionic liquid is a highly conductive and non-evaporability liquid, thus it is a usable material to realize wiring and/or strain gauges. Also stretching or bending do not damage liquid, the fabricated structure can be used to cover moving portion such as a joint of robots.
